“ My six year old daughter's Montessori experience started when she was 2 1/2. While most 6 year olds focus on their small worlds, my daughter's overall focus is on how she fits and works in balance with the world around her. The farm school setting gave my child an invaluable and unique experience in this regard. The Montessori method as taught by our teachers, combined with the farm, gardening and animals helped to make her a more complete individual. She's autonomous, confident and respectful because of this school. ” — Nicole M.

Programs

Your preschooler will benefit from the proven academic advantages of Montessori in a loving and nurturing environment.

MFS strives to create a dynamic learning environment where each student is given the necessary time, tools and guidance to acquire knowledge at a pace most appropriate individually. The classrooms reflect the ever changing cultural, seasonal and community interest studies. Throughout the school year, more challenging work is presented and added to the curriculum and is driven by the readiness of each student individually - not collectively. Those who are ready will be continually challenged at an accelerated pace and those who require additional time will be given it.

Montessori classrooms are multi-age, which allows the children to work and socialize within groups of three year age spans. Many opportunities exist for peer teaching, mentoring and role modeling in this setting. This enables the youngest students to be exposed to the older student's lessons while simultaneously working at their own comfortable and developmentally appropriate levels. Older students are given the opportunity to further master the lessons by sharing and teaching the younger students.
