Kindergarten children work on their lessons in the morning with the preschool children then stay for an extended day. From 12:15-3:00, they have lunch, recess and the opportunity to work in a smaller classroom setting with more advanced lessons in Math, Creative Writing and Language.
One key component of Extended Day is the students' ability to develop and create their own workplan which they are expected to complete throughout the week. Through this empowering process independence and time management skills are refined, as the children are accountable for the work they set out to accomplish.
Extended Day students enjoy weekly lessons in Spanish and extracurriculars such as Physical Education, Art and 4-H.
